C1
Holding one register is a C1 skill
The CEFR C1 line reads: can adjust their level of formality to suit the social context, and maintain a consistent register. A job interview asks for that on day one.

B1
You were taught neutral on purpose
The CEFR B1 line: can perform and respond to a wide range of language functions, using their most common exponents in a neutral register. Neutral is the design, not a gap in your study.
Register control is listed as a skill from B2 up.
B2
The Cervantes plan says the same thing
Its phrase chapter states that register marks, coloquial and formal, begin at B2. On formality of address, the choice of phrases is set from B2 onwards.

Ways to say what you are good at
Function 2.23 lists 5 templates at A1-A2, 11 at B1-B2 and 7 at C1-C2. Your biggest batch lands at B1-B2, the band where formality is not yet a filter.

THE TRAP
The B1 upgrade moves sideways
Soy un negado para los idiomas. Se me da bien escribir. Warmer, funnier, more native. Not more formal. So learners retreat to the A2 rung: Sé usar Excel.
That retreat is the robotic sound.
TWO BANDS
You get the word before the sentence
Competente and cualificado are B1-B2 vocabulary in section 7.6. But Soy (in)competente and Estoy capacitado para are C1-C2 phrase items.
The adjective arrives two bands before the frame.

Quisiera más detalles al respecto
The polite imperfect subjunctive, listed at B1-B2. I would like more detail on that. Use it for your questions at the end. It beats ten memorised phrases.
